Description
1999 Mariano Rivera World Series Game Worn & Signed New York Yankees Cap, MEARS Authentic. It will be a long time before a closer can match the longevity enjoyed by the sensational Rivera. His game-worn wares have grown and grown in value over years, and we see no reason why that trend won't continue. Worn by the Hall of Famer during the 1999 World Series when he registered one win, two saves and a 0.00 ERA in 4.2 innings pitched. For his efforts he was named the Series MVP.Midnight navy blue exterior displays intertwined "NY" in white embroidery at the front, "1999 World Series patch at the side and MLB logo patch at the back. Inner headband displays "New Era," "Authentic Collection," and "7 1/4" tags. Player identifiers include "#42 MO" in vintage black sharpie on the under-brim.
Solid wear is evident in the form of dirt and perspiration stains on the exterior, under-brim and interior headband. Rivera inscribed and signed the under-brim "Game Worn, 1999 W.S., Mariano Rivera M.V.P." in 9/10 vintage blue sharpie. LOA from MEARS, Authentic. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (AB10609). Letter of provenance from James Spence Authentication.
