2018 American League Rookie of the Year has emphatically proven you
wrong.The favorite son of the Land of the Rising Sun donned this home white jersey three times at Angel Stadium of Anaheim en route to his first of what will likely be multiple American League MVP seasons before this preternaturally gifted pitcher and slugger calls it quits. The good folks at MLB Authentication have confirmed two of those games--May 23 vs. Oakland and June 3rd vs. Seattle--while photo matches have been located for both of those contests as well as a third, May 26 vs. Texas, that saw Ohtani get a hit and score a run. He'd finish the season with 180 hits, forty-six home runs and 156 pitching strikeouts to claim all thirty first-place votes in MVP balloting.
The "Nike" branded jersey supplies a tri-tone tackle twill "Angels 17" on the chest, giving way to "Ohtani 17" on verso. Each sleeve bears a franchise logo patch, the left celebrating sixty years of franchise history.
