Population two!

Signed 1929 R316 Kashin Publications Babe Ruth PSA Authentic, Auto 9. Despite offensive numbers that would win most Triple Crowns (46 HR's, 154 RBI's, .345 BA), the brilliant Bambino was unable to keep the American League pennant flying over the Bronx in 1929, that flag of supremacy captured by Connie Mack's second great Athletics dynasty. But the vintage did provide the Yankee faithful with a particularly glorious cardboard commemorative of the team's greatest figure, the oversized (4.5x3.25") R316 Kashin Publications issue.

Thousands of the Bambino's legendary Goudey cards populate the hobby today, including a fairly sizeable handful of autographed examples, but fewer than two hundred Kashin's exist for Ruth, and only two of them are signed. We're proud to present one half of that tiny population here, an absolutely spectacular display piece pairing the most classic batting pose imaginable with a black fountain pen autograph that earns every bit of its "Auto 9" assessment from the folks at PSA/DNA.

The card itself, like the other autographed example, is labeled "Authentic," the owner likely aware that the handwritten "9-5-33" date on verso, almost certainly that of the autograph signing, would harm a numerical assessment. Tack holes at top and bottom are only particularly noticeable when held up to a light source, with corner wear and a light wrinkle well clear of the autograph the only other faults worthy of note. Certainly one of the most impressive Ruth signed trading cards that Heritage has presented to the collecting public. Encapsulated by PSA, Authentic Auto 9.
