Description
2013 Fleer Showcase Wayne Gretzky (Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems-Green) #MU-5 SGC Mint 9 - #'d 4/10. Wayne Gretzky was once considered to be the best prospect to turn professional since Guy Lafleur. Needless to say, Gretzky eclipsed that lofty prediction and went on to become the greatest player in NHL history. He didn't just break records, he shattered them. He's the only person to achieve 200 points in a season, and he accomplished the feat four times. The Great One was sent straight to the Hall of Fame upon retirement, without the requisite five year waiting period. The league would even go a step further, as Wayne Gretzky's famous double-nines were declared off-limits for the entirety of the National Hockey League in perpetuity! This was a distinction previously afforded only to the great Jackie Robinson in the entirety of the four major professional sports. Offered is a simply stunning card in the form of the highly regarded Precious Metal Gems line. This Green variant comes from 2013-14 Fleer Showcase #MU-5. Graded SGC Mint 9. Limited edition - #4/10.Auction Info
