Description
1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #53 PSA VG-EX 4. The quartet of cards featuring Babe Ruth from the 1933 Goudey series have come to not just represent the set but very hobby itself. Offered is the first of the four appearances on card #53 or the "Yellow Background" Ruth. The waist-high portrait effectively conveys the Bambino's joy in the game - swinging a Hillerich & Bradsby - while allowing just the beginnings of a smile knowing already that the outfielder doesn't have much of a chance. Graded SGC VG-EX 4. There is modest wear at corner tips, brightly colored graphics that rest precisely centered. A smudge stain under "(Babe)" and a reverse surface dimple in the lower right account for the grade. A very appealing and satisfying example of the toughest of the Ruth Goudey quartet.View Certification and Population Details from PSA
