Description

Circa 1930 Christy Mathewson Youth Center Benefit Broadside. Direct from Matty's hometown of Factoryville, Pennsylvania, this remarkable broadside is almost certainly the only one of its kind in existence. Though it promotes such politically incorrect endeavors as a "Popularity Contest" and "Midget Baseball," the calming presence of the Hall of Fame hurler in photographic portraiture at top of the 14x22" cardstock creation lends an undeniable dignity. Age toning and various scars incurred over decades of storage cannot derail the fine aesthetics, and certainly not the appeal of a Mathewson broadside, posthumous or not.
