Description
1912-34 Police Gazette Baseball Inserts Lot of 7. For much of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th, the National Police Gazette was one of this country's more popular periodicals. Having a strong emphasis on sport, the Gazette was often a spot to find attractive photographic inserts featuring the most popular athletes of the day. Here we present a fine collection of 11x16" inserts dating from Gazette issues released between 1912-34. Such subjects are highlighted here as Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, George Sisler, Benny Kauff, Nick Cullop, Zach Wheat, Rabbit Maranville, and the 1913 World Champion Philadelphia Athletics. Condition issues are virtually absent, impressive considering the age of these pieces.Auction Info
