Description

1914 Cracker Jack Smokey Joe Wood #22. Since 1900, only 13 pitchers have won 30 or more games in a season and Smoky Joe Wood is one of them. His best year was in 1912 when he went 34-5 with a 1.91 ERA. Wood also tied the great Walter Johnson for posting 16 consecutive wins. To do so, Wood had to beat Johnson and did so on a 2-hit 1-0 victory. This 1914 Cracker Jack is one of Woods' more popular card collectibles. A technical grade of VG would be given to this copy due to paper wrinkling and one small rip in the fragile paper going into the bottom edge. Colors remain rich and there is very little to no staining, a treat for a set which was only issued with caramel covered snack.
