This auction features a selection of rare C. 1890 Goodwin & Co. "Old Judge Cigarette Factory" insert cards that come to us from the land down under. These are rare Australian variety and originate from a veteran collector coming to us from literally around the world. These cards are rarely seen and feature subject more than likely not found in any other edition. Each of these cards is the one and only card graded to date by SGC or one of only two!

This presentation is for a Goodwin & Co. N174 Old Judge Card featuring: Professor William Miller that has been graded SGC 40 VG 3. William Miller (December 1846 - March 1939) was an Australian athlete also known as Professor William Miller. He is the only athlete to hold Australian championships for boxing, fencing, wrestling and weight-lifting. He was the proprietor of the Melbourne Gymnasium and an instructor at some the leading Melbourne schools. In the U.S.A. he defeated champions in boxing and wrestling. The Baltimore Sun described him as 'one of the greatest all-round athletes in the world'. As mentioned, this is one of only two examples recorded on the SGC census report!
