Rare C. 1890 N174 Old Judge (Australian) Thomas Lamond SGC 20 Fair 1.5. This auction features a selection of rare C. 1890 Goodwin & Co. "Old Judge Cigarette Factory" insert cards that come to us from the land down under. These are rare Australian variety and originate from a veteran collector coming to us from literally around the world. These cards are rarely seen and feature subject more than likely not found in any other edition. Each of these cards is the one and only card graded to date by SGC or one of only two!This presentation is for a Goodwin & Co. N174 Old Judge Card featuring: Thomas Lamond that has been graded SGC 20 Fair 1.5. Lamond was trained as a blacksmith like his father but preferred riding over replacing horse shoes. He made his way to the United States where he enlisted at 20 years of age into the U. S. Navy in Boston, Massachusetts. He returned to Australia after the war to become trainer at the Victoria Park Racecourse. As mentioned, this is the only example recorded on the SGC census report!
