Description

William Lange Cut Signature with Copperplate Portrait. Lange, captain for the 1898 Chicago Orphans, is depicted here in this fine late 19th-century copperplate portrait. He spent the 1890s ripping apart the National League, hitting a career .330 with 399 stolen bases in just seven seasons with the Orphans and the Chicago Colts, retiring at 28 in 1899 in order to get married. Also offered here is a marvelous cut signature, which has been matted along with the portrait and framed to final dimensions of 11x14". Wonderful opportunity to own the signature of one of the finest outfielders to play the game -- Lange is an excellent reason that baseball's Hall of Fame may want to rethink the 10-year rule. LOA from PSA/DNA.
