1916 World Series Game Two Ticket Stub, PSA Authentic Altered - Babe Ruth Pitches 13 Innings Pop 3 with 4 Higher. After surrendering a single score in the first frame, the twenty-one year old Boston Red Sox southpaw Babe Ruth delivered thirteen scoreless innings before Brooklyn Robins pitcher Sherry Smith finally faltered, surrendering the game-winning run in the bottom the fourteenth. This masterful performance from the young Bambino represented the start of twenty-nine and two-thirds scoreless innings Ruth would pitch in World Series competition, a record that would stand until the New York Yankees Hall of Famer Whitey Ford eclipsed the mark in 1962. This remarkably scarce keepsake is considered among the most desirable of all Ruth ticket stubs, and this one displays nicely, with creasing to the middle and the upper left corner being chipped off. The bottom of the ticket appears to be trimmed.
