Jennifer Marsh has more than a decade of experience at Heritage and is an expert in all aspects of auction operations, administration, and management.  Since joining the firm in 2004, Jennifer has been a senior member of several departments including Security and Human Resources.  In 2014, Jennifer relocated from Dallas to San Francisco to head the local satellite office.  Her strong commitment to customer service, proven track record with the firm, and knowledge of the auction market makes her an invaluable leader.  Since relocating to San Francisco, Jennifer has seamlessly facilitated dozens of sales and consignments across all 40 collecting categories.  Jennifer is also an experienced auctioneer with a budding interest in Numismatics.  She can be seen auctioneering all the major coin and currency auctions.  She has lived and traveled throughout the US and has a degree from Clayton State University in Georgia.  In her free time, Jennifer enjoys hiking, sailing, and exploring her new city.

Alissa is well versed on the art market, having managed multi-million dollar collections nationwide, helping collectors find premier paintings by important California and Western artists; and having worked both at major California and New York auction houses and alongside some of the country’s most respected dealers.  Alissa received her BA in Art History with an emphasis in the Italian Renaissance, then pursued her Master’s in American Fine and Decorative Arts. After spending several years in New York, Alissa decided to return to her native grounds to specialize in the great masters of the American West, working in the California Painting department of another prominent auction house and as Director of a highly recognized California Art Gallery. “I realized early on that this niche of the market is filled with passionate collectors and I feel fortunate to continue to build relationships with those buyers ” In addition to her role as Director, California Art, Alissa acts as one of the company’s auctioneers.

Mr. Shemonsky has worked within the jewelry industry throughout his professional career in retailing, design, manufacturing and the auction business. He holds a B.F.A. from the Philadelphia College of Art a Graduate Gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America.  

Prior to joining Heritage, he ran his own by-appointment appraisal and jewelry business in San Francisco, Ca. He is the former director for the international jewelry buying company CIRCA in San Francisco and Hong Kong. Previously he was the director of the fine jewelry and timepiece department of Bonham's auction house for North America.  

He is the course writer and instructor for the International Society of Appraisers course on Antique and Period Jewelry. In addition, he is a nationally recognized lecturer and writer on antique and period jewelry, and one of the founding board members for the American Society of Jewelry Historians West Coast chapter and has been a featured appraiser with the Antiques Roadshow for the past 16 years.

A native of Puerto Rico, David moved to Chicago in 1993 to attend Prairie State College and the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 1998, to continue his studies he moved to San Francisco, where he decided to apply for a summer Firearms position with Butterfield and Butterfield Auctions, and he has remained in the auction business in San Francisco ever since. Since then, he has developed broad general knowledge of firearms, with specialties in early Spanish Miquelet firearms and other Latin America-related collectibles. David became a founding member of our San Francisco office and our Arms and Armor Department when Heritage acquired his employer’s auction company in 2011. He also travels extensively, representing Heritage at numerous gun shows throughout the country, and regularly appears as an expert-appraiser on Antiques Roadshow.

Giles Moon has more than 25 years of experience in the auction industry.  Prior to Heritage, Giles was at Christie’s, South Kensington, London for 9 years:  first in the Antiquarian Book Department and later in the Popular Entertainment Department specializing in rock & roll and movie memorabilia.  Following Christie’s, Giles served as Associate Director of Rock & Roll at Sotheby’s London and then Assistant Vice President of Collectibles at Sotheby's New York. In 2002, Giles moved to Australia to head the newly formed Collectibles Department at Bonhams & Goodman, Sydney and held the same role for Leonard Joel in Melbourne before relocating to San Francisco in 2016. Giles has expertise in a wide range of collecting fields including rock, movie, sporting, and historical memorabilia; vintage toys and classic radios; film and advertising posters.

Holly Sherratt has more than 20 years of fine art experience and has worked in the auction industry for more than a decade. As a well-regarded Modern and Contemporary Art specialist, she has directed the sales of hundreds of important collections nationwide. She was the founding Director of Made in California Art at a major auction house and was instrumental in establishing world record prices for dozens of artists. She was also Head of Museum Programs at the world’s largest art online retailer, managing strategic partnerships with museums such as MoMA, British Museum, and the de Young. With vast auction, business development, and non-profit experience, she has built relationships with collectors, arts organizations, and fiduciaries around the world.  

Holly received her BA in Art History from UCLA and MA in Visual Studies (Art History and Critical Theory) from UCI. She trained at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and Laguna Art Museum. Holly also completed coursework at Loyola Law School and received the distinguished American Jurisprudence Awards for both legal writing and criminal law before transferring to graduate school. She is an active member of the San Francisco arts community. She served on the Board of Directors of Contemporary Extension at the SFMOMA and enjoys lecturing at local universities and arts organizations.

Janell has more than 15 years of experience in the auction industry and a well-regarded reputation as a connoisseur of European paintings.  Prior to joining Heritage, Janell was a senior cataloguer and art historian at a major auction house and has researched and vetted thousands of paintings.  An expert in Old Masters and 19th Century European Painting, Janell travels to Europe frequently to conduct primary research and meet with collectors. A San Francisco native and U.S. Navy veteran, Janell earned her B.A. in Art History from San Francisco State University. She volunteers at many local organizations including the San Francisco Public Library, San Francisco Recreations and Parks Department, and Strybing Arboretum in Golden Gate Park.
