1985 Los Angeles Lakers NBA Championship Ring....
Victor's spoils for historic battle of NBA titans1985 Los Angeles Lakers NBA Championship Ring. Ali had Frazier. Snead had Hogan. And the Los Angeles Lakers had the Boston Celtics, arguably the greatest rivalry in the history of the National Basketball Association. Presented is one of the most important relics to derive from that unforgettable era when legends like Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Larry Bird and Kevin McHale crowded the sport's greatest stage, an NBA Championship ring earned for the successful vengeance of the Lakers' loss to the Celtics in 1984.
This particular model was presented to a twenty-year veteran of the Lakers' front office, but we stress it is identical in every regard to those worn on the fingers of Magic and Kareem. A diamond-studded Larry O'Brien Trophy commands the face of the ring, set in a large purple stone and ringed by the celebratory text, "Los Angeles Lakers, World Champions." Left shank announces the recipient's surname and the year "1985" in a design anchored by a purple NBA logo. Right shank features a Lakers logo and a shout out to pop star Prince with a clever "Purple Reign" pun. "LA 4 BOS 2" at bottom recalls the Finals tally. Band measures to a size 8.5, and is stamped "14K Josten" at interior. Condition is effectively Mint. Letter of provenance from recipient.
