An included vintage 8x10" photograph captures the proud moment when DiGregorio received this trophy at Buffalo Memorial Auditorium, flanked by Naismith Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo and Braves coach Jack Ramsay. The image should give some sense of the trophy's scale, forty-three inches in height and fifteen inches square at the base. A large engraved plaque succinctly reports, "National Basketball Association, 1973-74, Rookie of the Year, Ernie DiGregorio."
The gleaming symbol of excellence exhibits some handling wear from forty years of display and storage, but missing handles on the smaller cup atop the first wooden tier represent the only notable diversion from original status. These handles could easily be replaced if desired, but the distraction is so minor that it hardly merits that small effort. Certainly one of the most significant individual NBA awards ever presented at public auction. Letter of provenance from Ernie DiGregorio.
