Description:
1969-70 Topps Basketball Complete Set (99) - #1 on the PSA Set Registry! Listed as the "Forgetaboutit!!!" set, this assembly has won the Set Registry Award nine times since the inception of the annual presentation. Every trading card production is judged mainly on content and historical significance. The 1969 Topps Basketball edition ranks at the top for both aspects. With this presentation we can definitively add "condition" to the list of accolades. The 99-card series is the cornerstone of any advanced basketball collection. The roster features twenty-five Hall of Famers including Jerry West, Oscar Robertson and Wilt Chamberlain, with the rookie cards of Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar), John Havlicek, Bill Bradley, Wes Unseld and others. It was the first comprehensive basketball edition in eight years and the first Topps basketball release since 1957.

On to the condition... amazingly, there are twenty-one Gem MT 10s (sixteen are pop one of one!) topped off by a stunning pop one-of-one Gem MT 10 rookie card of legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar! There are 73 Mint 9 cards including West and Chamberlain resulting in a presentation that is 95% (94.94% to be exact) Mint to Gem MT! Eighty-eight of the ninety-nine cards equal the highest grade known, another six have just one superior! Currently, the total population of over 27,000 cards shows only 34 with Gem MT status. With 21 of those 34 offered within, that accounts for 62% of the Gem MT population. Of the more than 100 currently registered sets, the 9.16 set rating is only .205% away from the ultimate possible set rating of 9.365!

This is one of only a trio of known sets (one has been retired) to generate a GPA over the Mint 9.0 level.

With a GPA of 9.16 this presentation ranks as the #1 set on the Current and All-Time Finest lists on the PSA Set Registry. Includes: Graded - PSA Gem MT 10: 21 cards, #'s 5 Howell, 10 Thurmond, 15 Hawkins, 23 Adelman, 24 Attles, 25 Alcindor, 26 Marin, 29 Erickson, 31 Van Arsdale, 33 Dischinger, 34 Finkel, 36 Williams, 38 Rodgers, 45 Lucas, 50 Robertson, 53 Davis, 56 Unseld, 60 Reed, 62 Weiss, 68 Chappell and 89 Boozer; PSA Mint 9: 73 cards, #'s 1 Chamberlain, 2 Goodrich, 3 Russell, 4 Imhoff, 6 Allen, 7 Boerwinkle, 8 Walker, 9 Block, 11 Gregor, 12 Johnson, 13 Rackley, 14 McGlocklin, 16 Egan, 17 Washington, 18 Barnett, 19 Meschery, 21 Miles, 22 Wesley, 27 Hazzard, 28 Dierking, 30 Rule, 32 Clark, 37 Peterson, 39 Kimball, 40 Cunningham, 41 Caldwell, 42 Ellis, 43 Bradley, 44 Wilkins, 46 Walk, 47 Bryant, 48 Kauffman, 49 Counts, 51 Barnett, 52 Smith, 54 Jones, 55 Bing, 57 Ellis, 58 Tresvant, 59 Siegfried, 61 Silas, 63 McCarter, 64 Kojis, 65 Hudson, 66 King, 67 Jackson, 69 Scott, 70 Mullins, 71 Komives, 72 Sanders, 73 Snyder, 74 Stallworth, 75 Hayes, 76 Harris, 77 Ohl, 78 Love, 80 Monroe, 81 Smith, 82 Nelson, 83 Hairston, 86 Bridges, 87 Gilliam, 88 Fox, 90 West, 91 Walker, 92 Robinson,93 Lee, 94 Loughery, 95 Bellamy, 96 Williams, 97 Smith, 98 Frazier, 99 Checklist; PSA NM-MT 8: 5 cards, #'s 20 Havlicek, 35 Baylor, 79 Van Arsdale, 84 and 85 DeBusschere.
