1976 Yogi Berra Game Worn Jersey. The "TY" on the chest is the insignia of the Tacoma Yankees farm club, the Pacific Coast League affiliate where Bronx fashion was recycled for secondary use. Here we find the shirt worn by the beloved Berra during his first season in pinstripes since retiring as a player in 1963. The outline of the original "NY" logo is clearly visible beneath the new one, and the Hall of Fame catcher's number "8" remains unmoved on verso. The same is true of the embroidered "Berra" swatch affixed at interior collar, further attributing the shirt to the newly minted Yankees coach and future team manager. Another swatch at the tail is embroidered "76 Set 1," just below the "Wilson [size] 44" manufacturer's tagging. Wear is strong, indicative of a second life in the minors, but there is no damage and the jersey displays marvelously. It would be a simple process to restore the jersey to its former appearance with the application of an original logo, but we'll leave that decision up to the winning bidder. LOA from Lou Lampson.

This is a most satisfied customer's testimonial of a true gentleman in today's era. It is rare that one encounters through the course of life a person which one has read in childhood' s classics or seen in movies of old.
