Presented is a road grey flannel from the last National League Championship season of Drysdale's Hall of Fame career. It was a season which began in a joint hold-out by Drysdale and fellow ace Sandy Koufax, a sign of the increased bargaining power of top Major League players. Though poor run support would continue to plague Drysdale, he continued to throw fire, striking out 177 and beaning seventeen.
Surviving in 100% original condition, the historic garment features "Los Angeles" script across the chest in royal blue felt and number "53" in red just below. Number "53" is repeated in blue on verso. Lower front left exterior tail holds "Rawlings [size] 46" and dry cleaning instructions label, which sprouts a "Set 1 1966" flap tag at right. An embroidered "Drysdale 66" is at center. Strong wear is evident, with some minor separation at the numbers on front and verso, causing no considerable visual concern. Auction LOA from Lou Lampson.
