Description:
1910-15 Donie Bush Game Used Sidewritten Bat. A fourteen-season teammate of the great Ty Cobb, Bush served as starting shortstop for the Detroit Tigers between his 1908 rookie season and his late 1921 trade to the Washington Senators. A master at fouling off pitches and drawing walks, Bush led the American League in free passes four of the six years matching this "Hillerich & Son Co." labeling period, always serving as one of the team's top run scorers.

The block lettered "D. Bush" bat measures thirty-four and a half inches in length and weighs thirty-eight ounces, and exhibits heavy use with a crack and checking on the back barrel that has been repaired by two vintage nails. Many ball marks are evident on the right and left barrel, and there is a heavy coat of vintage gripping substance on the cracked handle. Visible on the right barrel is a planed area with the factory side writing "Bush 39 oz, Detroit Tigers," with a partially visible date of "__-16-(12 or 15)." The front barrel holds a few remnants of a shipping label. A fantastic and rare Dead Ball Era relic with the most ideal provenance possible. Graded PSA GU 9. LOA from PSA/DNA.
