Description

1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #181 SGC 88 NM/MT 8. Magnificent representation of this key card from one of the hobby's most beloved issues transports us back to the days of the Depression without the unpleasantness of failed banks and bread lines. Essentially untouched by the passing of three quarters of a century, this gorgeous relic provides marvelous spotless surfaces to go along with barely a suggestion of wear to outer corner tips. The harshest critique we can find is that Ruth's precisely registered image lies just to the left of center. To give the clearest indication of the superiority of this specimen, we must note that it is equaled by just one other, with only one condition miracle higher at the top of the SGC population report. For many whose cardboard concentration tends toward the bubble gum era, this will be considered the most noteworthy auction offering. It would be difficult to dispute that this is worthy of being the crowning touch to a vintage Ruth collection.

We have also have become more educated about antiques from HA, an unexpected perk. And we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to HA for a preview auction just to see how it all works.
