The Only Known Ernie "Tiny" Bonham Single Signed Baseball. The biggest pitching star of the New York Yankees during the War years, Bonham was a member of the 1941 and 1943 World Champs, earning All-Star nods in 1942 and 1943. His most productive season was 1942, when he led the American League with twenty-one victories, six shutouts, twenty-two complete games and an .808 winning percentage, details handwritten by Bonham on this presumably game used OAL (Harridge) ball from that campaign. Likewise sealed beneath a vintage coating of shellac is Bonham's 9+/10 black fountain pen autograph. Bonham was with the Pirates in 1949 when stricken by a severe bout of appendicitis, and died eighteen days after his final appearance on the mound. As such, his autograph is one of the most elusive in the hobby for advanced Yankee collectors. We've never seen another single signed baseball, so this should be considered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
