1950 Hall of Famers Multi-Signed Baseball with Cobb, Speaker, Baker. It was the most talent-packed roster ever to compete in a Texas League game, though admittedly the players may have been a decade or two past their primes. The signers of this Official Texas League ball took the field to face a single batter at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas in front of an Opening Day crowd of 54,141, the largest in League history. Dizzy Dean walked the lead-off man on a three-two count and was summarily ejected in an orchestrated altercation with the umpire. Only Charlie Grimm, who played first base but then returned to his real job of managing the Dallas Eagles after the youngsters came in to replace the old timers, is absent from the ball. Present are Tris Speaker, Ty Cobb, Frank Baker, Charlie Gehringer, Mickey Cochrane, Travis Jackson, Dizzy Dean, Dufffy Lewis. Each blue fountain pen signature rates 7/10 or better, and the ball is lightly and evenly toned. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
