The Dallas Cowboys recruit Heritage to auction Pop Art for Salvation Army
Online bids being accepted now through Sunday, Dec. 19 for special Cowboys art designed by 3-D Pop Artist Charles Fazzino, only at HA.com/DallasCowboys
DALLAS, TX – Heritage Auctions has teamed up with the Dallas Cowboys to auction off a special 50th Anniversary Celebratory Helmet created by renowned 3-D Pop Artist Charles Fazzino, volunteering to waive all auction fees so that the complete proceeds of the auction benefit The Salvation Army. Bids are currently being accepted online, through 10 p.m. on Sunday night, Dec. 19, at HA.com/DallasCowboys.
“It means a lot to all of us at Heritage to be part of this special auction,” said Greg Rohan, President of Heritage Auctions. “It’s always a pleasure to work with the Cowboys organization in any fashion and the beneficiary is as good as they come.”
With countless memories to reflect upon during the team's Golden Anniversary recognition, Fazzino has used the Dallas Cowboys iconic silver and blue helmet as a unique canvas to capturing key moments in the franchise's history: the three homes of the Dallas Cowboys - the Cotton Bowl, Texas Stadium and Cowboys Stadium; highlights of members of the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor; great players from the team’s history; Cowboys inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and various other benchmarks from the team’s first 50 years.
Over the last 13 seasons the family of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has dedicated the Cowboys annual Thanksgiving Day halftime show as a national showcase to kickoff The Salvation Army's annual Red Kettle fundraising campaign. The team's association with network television has spawned a donation of $20 million worth of airtime and has helped raise more than $1.3 billion for The Salvation Army, while reaching 30 million people annually. This unique charitable relationship is highlighted during the holiday season, but is sustained throughout the year. “This is a one of a kind piece of art by a famous artist created specifically to benefit a great charity,” said Rohan. “We’re hoping that bidders open their hearts and wallets to make this a tremendous fundraiser for The Salvation Army.”
