Heritage Sports Staff Expansion Continues!
Jonathan Scheier joins HSC team.
Dallas, Texas: Heritage Sports Collectibles (HSC) is pleased to announce that Jonathan Scheier has joined their staff as Chief Cataloger.
"Jonathan came to us on a freelance basis in July to write the bulk of our first Signature Sale catalog, and fortunately we were able to convince him to join us as a full-time staff member," said HSC Director Chris Ivy. "His extensive hobby knowledge and clear, concise writing style made him the perfect candidate to fill this position."
A die-hard New Yorker, Jonathan was raised hearing the names of DiMaggio and Mantle from his father, who saw Ruth's final farewell, Willie Mays' "Catch" and Don Larsen's perfect game in person.
After completing his Master's Degree in Creative Writing from Florida State University, Jonathan returned to New York City, working for a brief stretch at MTV before finally finding himself in a position to combine his love of writing and sports history as a copywriter for Leland's Auctions. After three and a half years with Leland's, Jonathan set off on a freelance career, writing for some of the top auction houses in the country, and publishing in Sports Collectors Digest.
About his new position, Jonathan says, "It was tough to leave my Yankees behind, but after spending several weeks at Heritage in the summer, it was clear that the opportunity to sign on permanently was too good to pass up. It's not every day you're offered the chance to get in on the ground floor of a division that is set to be the next big thing."
Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers, with annual sales exceeding $300 million, is the world's largest collectibles auctioneer and the third largest auctioneer in the United States, handling rare coins, sports collectibles, currency, comic books, vintage movie posters, illustration art, music memorabilia, antique silver, paintings, sculpture and decorative arts, photography, and Americana.
