Description:

Early 1940's Alex Agase College All-Stars Game Worn Uniform. Paris and Milan have nothing on this uniform when it comes to high fashion. One of the most attractive football uniforms to come down the pike in recent memory was worn by University of Illinois and Purdue standout Agase, who would spend six seasons after the war on the professional gridiron with the Chicago Rockets, Los Angeles Dons, Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Colts. Working from top to bottom, we begin with a silver, blue and red painted leather helmet by "Wilson," complete down to the original chinstrap. Signed in 10/10 black sharpie. The heavy durene blue jersey features white satin number "44" numerals on front and chest and a constellation of red felt stars on each grey shoulder and striped side paneling. Tagging at interior crotchpiece is from "May & Halas" of Chicago, with size "46" flap tag affixed. Nice game wear with no problematic damage. Signed on front and verso in 10/10 black sharpie. Finally, the pants continue the striped side paneling theme, with laced fly. "May & Halas" label joins "Wilson [size] Regular, 36" labeling at interior crotch. Faded "Agase" is markered at interior waistband. Pants are autographed in 10/10 sharpie. LOA from Lou Lampson. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication (autograph).
