Description:

1935-36/1936-37 Mush March Game Worn Art-Deco Style Sweater. Here we present a very rare style Art Deco jersey that was worn for two years by the Chicago Blackhawks during 1935-36 and 1936-37. Mush March's name still appears on an embroidered swatch affixed to the interior hem of the jersey, and the original "Spalding" tag at the neckline is still intact. This style sweater was made famous from the Winter Classic Game held at Wrigley Field on January 1, 2009. Only three known jerseys of this Art Deco style still exist, with the Paul Thompson jersey in a previous Heritage auction selling for an impressive $25,000. Admittedly, the number, which belongs on verso is missing, however, outlines of the numerals are still very visible. Also, the original team crest patch has been removed from the front of the jersey, but that very patch is included in this lot, and can easily be reapplied to bring this sweater back to its original state. Also, there are some visible holes throughout the jersey, but impressive eye-appeal still remains. In addition, a color photo of the 1936-37 Chicago Blackhawks, with Marsh wearing this exact jersey will be included in this lot. LOA from Harold March.
