Description:

1976 Robin Roberts Game Worn "1876" Uniform from First Pitch Ceremony. Fantastic replica of the bib-front uniforms worn by the earliest organized ballclubs was sported by Hall of Fame pitcher Robin Roberts as he tossed out the first pitch of the 1976 All-Star Game marking the centennial of the National League. Correct down to the heavy flannel of its construction, the uniform features the long sleeves, high collar and button-laden front of archaic National League fashion, though the "Rawlings [size] 44" label in the tail and "Sleeve 34"" tailoring notation in the tail are clearly anachronistic, as is the "Roberts 36" applied in red felt to verso. Matching pants feature a thick red belt and "Rawlings [size] 38" labeling at interior waistband. Jersey is signed on front in 10/10 black marker, with a few insignificant spots of foxing all that bears mention in terms of condition. A rare Hall of Famer game worn "throwback" uniform, for the collector who has everything. LOA from Lou Lampson. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication (autograph).
