Description:

1928 Collins, Cobb, Ruth & Speaker Large Photograph. A collection of baseball talent as colossal as the photograph that pictures them! While we can't be entirely certain as to the initial home of this remarkable image, it's clearly one that was produced for public display, and one that dates to the time the photo was snapped. The office of the American League president is one theory that has been forwarded. Tris Speaker and Ty Cobb together in the uniform of the Philadelphia Athletics assures 1928 vintage, with Eddie Collins joining them as another geriatric Hall of Fame star on Mack's power-packed squad. The Babe's pinstripes give the location as the Bronx. The image measures 20.5" square, with the original wooden frame adding three inches to each dimension. A small amount of wear is visible upon Ruth's leg, but this does not distract the eye and the piece otherwise presents essentially as NRMT. How about displaying this photo in your trophy room along with autographs of each legend?
