Description:

1910 Philadelphia Athletics Oversized Presentational Print from Frank "Home Run" Baker Collection. While on rare occasions one will encounter the similarly themed 1911 porcelain plate featuring Connie Mack riding an elephant "tattooed" with images of the club members, this is our first sighting of this 16x20" print, almost certainly issued only to players and V.I.P.'s. While the size, pedigree, and undeniable charm of the piece's composition should be enough to start the bidder paddles waving, we must also remember that the 1910 team was the first to bring a World Championship to the City of Brotherly Love, thanks to a power-packed roster of names like Plank, Bender, Collins and the piece's former owner, Home Run Baker. The piece has been mounted to a cardboard backing, which has minimized the effects of scattered and rather insignificant tearing. Toning and general wear likewise do almost nothing to detract. Quite likely a once in a lifetime opportunity, and a chance to set the serious Philadelphia Athletics collector apart from the herd.
