Description:

1940's St. Louis Cardinals Prototype Jersey. Exceedingly scarce "Rawlings" salesman's sample was presented to the Cardinals brass for consideration, but those in charge decided not to adopt the stylistic change for their road greys. By staying faithful to the birds and bat tradition, the team has turned this hopeful design into a highly desirable rarity worthy of the most advanced flannel collection. Great chenille "STL" logo appears over heart, with red piping at collar and sleeves and number "5" on verso. Zipper front. "Rawlings St. Louis" label in collar is joined by size "44" and "Dry Clean Only" tagging. Condition is Mint. LOA from Lou Lampson.
