Description
1963 Casey Stengel Birthday Presentational Bowl from the Casey Stengel Collection. The Ol' Perfesser gets a year older. Though the play of his bumbling Mets gave him more grey hairs than seventy-three years of life could do on its own, Casey was certainly touched by the presentation of this beautiful Sterling bowl engraved with the team logo and the words "Happy Birthday Casey Stengel, July 29, 1963." Note that the Mets couldn't even get this right, however, as Casey's birthday is actually July 30th. Nonetheless, it's a gorgeous display piece, showing no noteworthy condition issues short of expected minor tarnishing. "Wallace Sterling" maker's mark on base. Bowl is 10" in diameter, and stands 5" tall.Auction Info
