Baseball Cards
1910 Orange Borders "National League Champions, 1909" SGC 20 Fair 1.5. This scarce series of 32 currently known subjects were originally found as a part of a box of candy issued by the P.R. Warren and Geo. Davis Companies. The name derives from the distinctive orange color borders which surrounds the intended subject. This "National League Champions, 1909" (SGC 20 FR 1.5) displays a team photo of the 1909 Pittsburgh Pirates including the legendary "Flying Dutchman" himself Honus Wagner. The hand cut collectible has a few light crease and a small edge chip of surface loss on the reverse which accounts for the grade. Visually, the card presents at the VG/EX to EX range.
1912 Hassan Triple Folder Thomas/Bender PSA EX 5. Definitive representation of the Hassan Triple Folder card featuring Hall of Famer Chief Bender and his cardmate, Ira Thomas. This stunner has been graded a PSA EX 5 and features solid corners and a clean surface.
1912 Hassan Triple Folder Hummel/Daubert PSA EX-MT 6. In the card collecting world, there are certain card issues that you never get tired of seeing, and Hassan Triple Folders is a set that definitely falls into that category. Offered here is the John Hummel/Jacob Daubert exemplar that has been graded an impressive PSA EX-MT 6. Very little corner and surface wear is exhibited on this cardboard treasure.
1912 Hassan Triple Folder Lord/Tannehill PSA EX 5. Offered here is the Harry Lord/Lee Tannehill Triple Folder card from the popular Hassan Cigarettes issue. This example features superior centering and a clean surface, which displays the colorful front player illustrations. Card has been conservatively graded PSA EX 5.
1912 Hassan Triple Folder Archer/Overall PSA VG-EX 4. Offered here is the James Archer/ Orval Overall, "Frank Chance Beats Out a Hit" card from the 1912 Hassan Triple Folder set. This piece has been graded a PSA VG-EX 4., with a small crease through the Overall section. Nice corners and solid centering make up the rest of this beauty.

1959 Fleer Ted Williams Jan. 23, 1959 #68 PSA EX 5. A smiling Ted Williams signs his $125,000 contract on this famous card, which is recognized as the toughest and most significant from the 1959 Fleer issue. Solid centering with moderate corner wear aids in rating this card a PSA EX 5.
1959 Topps Bob Clemente #478 PSA EX-MT 6. Solid exemplar of the Pittsburgh legend from the popular 1959 Topps set. Slightly off centered, with very minor corner wear qualify this card as a PSA 6 EX-MT.
1960 Topps Carl Yastrzemski #148 PSA NM 7 (OC). Despite the (OC) qualifier, this 1960 Topps Carl Yastrzemski rookie card would fit perfectly into any Red Sox enthusiast's collection. 1962 Topps Managers' Dream #18 PSA EX-MT 6. Doesn't get much better than these two legendary ball players that are featured on this card from the 1962 Topps issue. A small amount of corner wear and very little border chipping helps in receiving its PSA EX-MT 6 grade.

Included is a 1961 Topps card #2 that exhibits VG-EX condition, in addition to a 1962 Topps "Maris Blasts 61st" #313, graded a PSA NM-MT 8 (OC).
1909-11 E90-1 American Caramel Ty Cobb - Altered. One of the first widely circulated cards of baseball's greatest competitor is his E90-1 American Caramel cards from 1909. The image is of the gritty gladiator swinging his wooden "sword" at a soon to be crushed sphere of cowhide. This card is altered and will not be slabbed by either PSA or SGC grading services. The card measures a full 1-1/2" x 2-3/4" in size but has had the following procedures: trimmed, cleaned leaving the card stiffer than anticipated, rebacked, white color added to corners and the image area has been cut out (most likely from a second card) and glued down, the black key line around the illustration has been redrawn. Presents at the excellent level. An affordable alternative with great display value for the budget minded vintage hobbyist.

1962 Post Cereal Mickey Mantle & Roger Maris Life Magazine Ad Cards. After their on the field heroics during the 1961 season, Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris were larger than life icons who were now making appearances wherever and whenever they could. Post Cereal used the home run hitting duo to promote the upcoming 200-card series that year in Life magazine. Offered are the advertising versions of Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris hand cut from the insert panel. Both have full key line intact. Grades VG due to light creasing.

Original photos will always be very important pieces in vintage New York Yankees collections, and this example from circa 1932 acts as one of the more significant representations that you will see offered at auction. Measuring at 8x10", this image depicts Babe Ruth and company in crystal clear clarity. "Thorne Photo" stamp is on the verso of this piece that has some light creasing, but still is recognized as overall solid condition.
Circa 1927 New York Yankees Original Photograph. Taken during spring training at the start of the 1927 season, probably the most famous team in Major League history lined up for this team portrait taken by Thorne Photo. Circa 1930's New York Yankees Original Photograph Lot of 4. An amazing oversized original photograph from Joe DiMaggio's rookie year is featured in this collection of four New York Yankees images. DiMaggio, Frank Crossetti, Tony Lazzeri, Bill Dickey, Lou Gehrig, Jake Powell and George Selkirk are lined up, with a classic bat-on-shoulder pose, on this 11x14" photograph. Also included is a 8x10" photo with 20 percent missing from the bottom left section, with DiMaggio, Gehrig and others (Cosmo-Sileo Co. stamp on verso); a 7.5x9.75" photo taken at a banquet features Dickey and Gary Cooper; the final piece is an 8x10" photo featuring George Weiss, Joe McCarthy and Ed Barrow. 1931 New York Yankees Panoramic Photograph. An immaculate image of the 1931 Yankees squad taken at the team's spring training site at St. Petersburg, Florida. This stunning 5.5x13.5" sepia panoramic photo features 42 members of that year's club, including Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Very light surface creasing is exhibited on a small portion of this image, but the overall condition would be considered superior when compared to similar exemplars from the same time period.

1951 New York Giants World Series Press Pin. Any member of the press who wore one of these pins got the chance to watch Joe DiMaggio in his last World Series, and Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle in their first championship series. This piece exhibits very light wear, and still has its original pinback fastener present.
1969 New York Mets World Series Press Pendant. Attractive press pin that was converted to a pendant from the 1969 World Series. The Miracle Mets surprised the baseball world during that special season, and members of the press were given these great collectibles. Of note, the verso of this piece has tape, which presumably is covering where the pin once resided.
Willie Mays Bally's Park Place Casino Chips Lot of 24. Bally's Park Place of Atlantic City issued these $5 casino chips to commemorate the career of Willie Mays. Offered here are 24 clay chips, which feature four different variations, and the majority showcasing "The Catch."
Babe Ruth Original Oil Painting. When Ruth was 19, Jack Dunn, owner and manager of the Baltimore Orioles (a Boston Red Sox minor league team at the time), recognized the young man's talent and signed him to a contract. Jack was widely known as one of the best scouts in baseball. When the other players saw the strapping young Ruth, they referred to him as "Jack's newest babe." George Herman Ruth, Jr. was known as the "Babe" ever since. We offer a 24" x 20" original oil painting from artist Grant Smith, depicting Ruth as a Red Sox Rookie.

Walter Johnson Original Oil Painting. When Johnson retired as a player in 1927, he finished his 21-year career with 416 wins, 3,508 strike outs and a 2.17 ERA. Two years later, he was appointed manager of the Senators. He was replaced, and in 1933, selected to manage the Cleveland Indians. His easygoing disposition and tendency to let things slide, however, did not make him a suitable manager. Johnson then entered politics winning a seat as Montgomery County Commissioner in the state of Maryland. In 1940, he ran for U.S. Congress but was narrowly defeated. Johnson died at the age of 59 on December 10, 1946 from a brain tumor. Offered is a 30" x 24" oil painting of the Baseball immortal by artist Grant Smith.



Jackie Robinson Original Painting. Branch Rickey choose wisely in his hope to integrate baseball. Rickey knew there would be difficult times ahead for Jackie Robinson, and made him promise to not fight back when confronted with racism. From the beginning of his career with the Dodgers, Robinson's will was tested. Even some of his new teammates objected to having an African-American on their team. People in the crowds sometimes jeered at Robinson, and he and his family received threats. Offered is an original 24" x 36" oil painting by Grant Smith, showing Jackie in the center rounding third base. A player in the upper right points a finger towards Robinson face, and a copy of an actual letter received by Robinson is attached in upper left.

Phil Mickelson and Justin Leonard Colonial Signed Lot of 2. Fantastic display featuring Phil Mickelson and a Tournament Guest badge from the 2001 Colonial signed by Justin Leonard. The man fans refer to as "Lefty," is illustrated in a classic follow-through pose, with a Bank of America Colonial pin and 2004 hospitality badge. This piece has been professionally framed and matted, while measuring at 12x14.5". In addition, a pinback button badge from the 2001 tourney has been signed in 10/10 black sharpie by the Texas alum. 2009 American Century Championship Signed Scorecard Lot of 2 and Pass. The 2009 American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament is an autograph seekers dream. A vast array celebrity athletes, television personalities and movie stars took part this year for the annual charity golf event. Offered here are two unused scorecards from the tournament's site, Edgewood Tahoe. One has been signed by former NFL quarterbacks Mark Rypien, Billy Joe Tolliver and Steve Bartkowski. The other features a signature of hockey star Jeremy Roenick. Each signature is in 10/10 black sharpie. In addition, this collection is accompanied with a practice round pass from the event. 1976-77 New York Rangers Team-Signed Stick. Offered here is a professional model hockey stick signed by the 1976-77 New York Rangers. The team's coach was Jean-Guy Talbot, and "Talbot" is imprinted on the upper shaft, which means, presumably, that this piece was used or issued to Talbot during his playing days. Signatures rate from 8/10, to numerous examples that have bled heavily. Keys include: Phil Esposito, Ken Hodge, Carol Vadnais, Dave Maloney, Steve Vickers, Walt Tkaczuk and six others. "New York Rangers 1976/77" has been boldly markered on the blade. Auction LOA from JSA
Late 1970's Glen Hanlon Game Used Goalie Stick. Former head coach of the Washington Capitals, Glen Hanlon used this goaltender's stick during his time spent with the Vancouver Canucks. The stick is fully intact, and exhibits heavy use and original taping, with "Hanlon" printed on the upper shaft.
2003-04 Derek Morris Game Worn Jersey. Gold medal winner for the Czech Republic in 2004, Derek Morris wore this jersey during the 2003-04 season with the Colorado Avalanche. This rare style throwback shirt features a retro lace collar, and a classic three-color letter pattern across the front. The proper three-color tackle twill numerals have been applied to the sleeves and verso, with "Morris" stitched in the back nameplate in single-color tackle twill. Its original fight strap is still present and the MeiGray Authentication tag is in the rear interior tail, in addition to the "[size] 56" tag in the neckline. 2005-06 Antti Laaksonen Game Worn Jersey. Finnish professional hockey player who spent seven years in the NHL, Antti Laaksonen wore this jersey during the 2005-06 season with the Colorado Avalanche. Affixed with the team's attractive 10th Anniversary patch, this shirt exhibits evident use, with some interior scuffing, fabric stains and board marks. This jersey has the proper team logo patch stitched at the front, with three-color tackle twill numerals and his name that has been stitched on the verso nameplate in single-color tackle twill. 2006-07 Greg Zanon Game Worn Rookie Jersey. Having appeared in just four games for the Predators during the 2005-06 season, the talented young defenseman from Burnaby, British Columbia finally found his way into regular NHL rotation this year, helping to lead Nashville all the way to the playoffs. The offered yellow sweater exhibits light but definite wear from a successful rookie campaign, and features the intimidating team logo patch on the chest and number "5 on sleeves and verso. "Zanon" is spelled across rear nameplate. Fight strap appears in lower interior rear tail. Size "58" tag inside collar has red marker number "5" written upon it. Dual labels sewn inside tail of sweater note that this is a "2006-2007 Set #1" model, and bears the facsimile signature of Pete Rogers, the Predators' head equipment manager. 2006-07 Mark Rycroft Game Worn Jersey. This attractive Colorado Avalanche Throwback jersey was worn by former NHL right winger, Mark Rycroft. Used during the 2006-07 season, this shirt features a retro lace collar, the team name in three-color tackle twill across the front and the proper three-color tackle twill numerals on the sleeves and verso. This shirt, worn by Ossi Vaananen during the 2006-07 season exhibits light use, and has the proper three-color tackle twill numerals on the sleeves and verso. Offered here is a program that was issued at the 1957 Texas Sports Hall of Fame banquet, which has been signed by seven celebrities who were in attendance. 1958 Topps Zorro Complete Set (88). In 1958, Walt Disney produced a film starring Guy Williams as "Zorro," a masked avenger armed with only a sword, a mask and the desire to right the wrong always leaving behind his "Z" calling card. Topps produced a colorful 88-card edition offering images from that film. Grades 85% EX/MT to NM, 15% EX with a few lesser.
