Session 1
Baseball Cards
1941 Double Play DiMaggio/Keller 63/64 SGC 80 EX/NM 6. Issued during the greatest season of the Yankee Clipper's Hall of Fame career, the presented card has survived in remarkable condition, with only the slightest edge and corner wear to suggest nearly seven decades of life.
1944-45 Albertype HoF Lou Gehrig SGC 86 NM+ 7.5. Conservatively graded (in our opinion) scarce 1940's Albertype postcard of the "Iron Horse." A hint of wear to one corner tip. Wouldn't look too out of place in an "88" holder.
1944-45 Albertype HoF Babe Ruth SGC 60 EX 5. Scarce early Albertype postcard of legendary New York Yankees Home run slugger babe Ruth. Without the chip in the top layer of the lower corner this card is so very close to being in mint condition. A scarcely offered Ruth card as a single.
1948 Bowman Yogi Berra #6 SGC 84 NM 7. Just four years after participating in the invasion of the Normandy beaches on D-Day, the Yankee catcher made his pinstriped debut with the Bowman set. Here's a top-shelf specimen, likely worthy of an even higher grade if not for its slight southern lean.
1953 Bowman Color Stan Musial #32 SGC 60 EX 5. Marvelous portrait photography of Stan the Man remains glossy and flawlessly registered, with mild edge wear and a slight northern centering shift the issues to note.
1953 Bowman Color Bauer/Berra/Mantle #44 SGC 50 VG/EX 4. A favorite card among young Yankees fans during the club's fifth consecutive World Championship season. 10/90 north/south centering, otherwise quite clean and sharp.
1953 Bowman Color Yogi Berra #121 SGC 60 EX 5. The Hall of Fame Yankees catcher smiles in the Bronx dugout. Card is glossy and sharply registered, with points lost mainly for the slight diamond cut.
1953 Topps Jackie Robinson #1 SGC 40 VG 3. The Dodgers Hall of Famer appears upon the set's number one card, a fitting honor for this most important baseball first. Typical edge and corner wear, but surfaces remain clean and attractive.
1953 Topps Mickey Mantle #82 SGC 50 VG/EX 4. Solid mid-grade specimen was issued during the Yanks' fifth consecutive World Championship season. Typical edge and corner wear is found here but the surfaces remain quite attractive, providing eye appeal to surpass the technical grade.
1954 Red Heart Mickey Mantle SGC 60 EX 5. Man's best friend meets the National Pastime. Rock-solid representation that came packaged with Fido's dinner would chart even higher if not for 35/65 centering. Great color and registration with almost no wear to note.
1954 Topps Ted Williams #1 SGC 60 EX 5. Collectors know that the first and last cards in a set are always tough to find in nice condition, and this effect is doubled when those cards picture stars. So this solid mid-grade specimen featuring the Splendid Splinter deserves your attention and your bid.
1955 Topps Sandy Koufax #123 SGC 40 VG 3. Nice "key" rookie card from the 1955 Topps issue featuring Hall of Fame pitcher Sandy Koufax with the Brooklyn Dodgers. A pair of very faint spider wrinkles answers the question why this is a "40." Attractive card for the grade.
1956 Topps Ted Williams #5 SGC 60 EX 5. Solid mid-grade card exhibits only the typical edge and corner wear found on most cards from this decade, leaving the image area clean and attractive. A key card in the 1956 set.
1956 Topps Hank Aaron #31 SGC 80 EX/NM 6. Early card from Hammerin' Hank loses points for centering rather than wear, remaining bright and glossy with minor corner touches. Clean surfaces.
1956 Topps Sandy Koufax #79 SGC 80 EX/NM 6. Second-year card for the Hall of Fame southpaw. A clean and attractive card with points lost mainly to imperfect left/right centering.
1956 Topps Roy Campanella #101 SGC 80 EX/NM 6. The Hall of Fame catcher has never looked better, as color and gloss are first-rate on this specimen hampered only by light touches at the corner. A solid representation.
1956 Topps Willie Mays #130 SGC 50 VG/EX 4. A big smile from the Say Hey Kid. A slight shift to the south in centering would probably increase the grade by a point if not two, as the wear at the corners is not particularly significant and the card otherwise presents beautifully.
1956 Topps Mickey Mantle #135 SGC 80 EX/NM 6. Gray back version of the card every kid wanted, issued during the finest season in the Mick's Hall of Fame career. The Triple Crown winner appears with bright color and sharp registration, with only light corner touches.
1956 Topps Duke Snider #150 SGC 84 NM 7. The Hall of Fame center fielder for the Brooklyn Dodgers appears upon this top representation from the 1956 set. Sharp corners and strong centering.
1956 Topps Yankees Team #251 SGC 60 EX 5. The Champions of the World, led by Triple Crown-winning Mickey Mantle. All the boys are here in miniature on this solid mid-grade specimen.
1957 Topps Willie Mays #10 SGC 84 NM 7. A set that remains a fan favorite over a half century since issue. The great Willie Mays takes a batting stance, captured with perfect color and clarity. Likely a NM-MT 8 if centering was shifted a hair to the left.
1957 Topps Hank Aaron #20 SGC 80 EX/NM 6. The most famous reverse-negative card in the hobby. Bright and glossy card shows only light wear and a mild shift to the right in centering.
1957 Topps Mickey Mantle #95 SGC 60 EX 5. Topps Baseball makes its first entry into the world of photography, and here we find the set's most desirable card. Color and centering are very strong here, with light edge and corner wear the only culprits.
1957 Topps Sandy Koufax #302 SGC 84 NM 7. Very little change between the card in its current state and that which it enjoyed back in 1957, with points lost mainly to imperfect centering. A fine specimen from the Bums' last season in Brooklyn.
1957 Topps Yankees Power #407 SGC 60 EX 5. Mickey and Yogi pose in the dugout during an American League Championship season in the Bronx. Mild edge and corner wear, but clean surfaces which provide a strong visual appeal.
1958 Topps Roger Maris #47 SGC 60 EX 5. A Rajah rookie! An eastward centering shift is the main issue here, as the card remains in practically like-new condition otherwise. Sharp corners and great colors.
1958 Topps Bob Clemente #52 SGC 60 EX 5. He'll always be Roberto to us, no matter what the folks at Topps say. The heroic Hall of Famer has never looked better, losing points here mainly to the 90/10 eastward shift in centering. Eye appeal surpasses grade by a good margin here.
1958 Topps Nellie Fox #479 SGC 88 NM/MT 8. Just a year before he would lead the Go Go Sox to the American League Championship, Fox appeared on this high-number card from the Topps Baseball set. Great color and gloss with a surprising absence of wear.
1958 Topps Mickey Mantle #487 SGC 86 NM+ 7.5. High-number card features a star-spangled Mickey posing during another World Championship season for the Yanks. Very little wear; the card would grade even higher if not for imperfect left/right centering.
1959 Topps Mickey Mantle #10 SGC 80 EX/NM 6. Bright colors, solid registration and gleaming gloss make this card a feast for the eyes. Very minor corner wear prohibits an even higher ranking.
1959 Topps Bob Clemente #478 SGC 80 EX/NM 6. Solid representation features the legend of Steeltown at the height of his powers. Just the slightest edge and corner wear provides for the grade as listed.
1959 Topps Mickey Mantle #564 SGC 80 EX/NM 6. Solid specimen would grade even higher if not for the northeastern shift in centering, as wear is light and colors quite bold. A tough card from the high number series.
1960 Topps Mickey Mantle #350 SGC 70 EX+ 5.5. Another American League Championship season for the Mick and his Yanks. Imperfect top/bottom centering but otherwise very attractive with bright colors and dead-on registration.
1960 Topps Mickey Mantle #563 SGC 80 EX/NM 6. Very attractive high-number specimen pictures the greatest name in post-war baseball. A slight southern shift in centering is all the prohibits an even higher grade, as wear is quite minimal.
1961 Fleer Ty Cobb #14 SGC 92 NM/MT+ 8.5. The Georgia Peach flashes a big smile upon this card issued the year of his death. Stellar condition with great color and gloss.
1961 Fleer Lou Gehrig #31 SGC 96 Mint 9. Twenty years after his passing, the Iron Horse is fittingly honored in this Fleer set dedicated to the legends of the game. Stellar condition merits its Mint grade.
1961 Topps Sandy Koufax #344 SGC 86 NM+ 7.5. Not much to complain about here, as centering is 40/60 at worst and wear is at an absolute minimum. A top specimen from the three-time Cy Young winner.
1961 Topps Bob Clemente #388 SGC 88 NM/MT 8. The Hall of Fame Pirate appears in perfect color and registration, and marvelously centered between sharp corners and even borders. A marvelous Near Mint to Mint prize.
1961 Topps Mickey Mantle #475 SGC 60 EX 5. The Mick is captured during the period of his greatest A.L. dominance, winning back-to-back MVP Awards along with a pair of pennants for his Yankees. Card is brightly colored and well-centered.
1961 Topps Mickey Mantle #578 SGC 70 EX+ 5.5. One half of the biggest story in baseball in 1961, the Mick bursts from the headlines on this solid mid-grade card. Minor edge and corner wear, leaving the image area in stellar shape.
1962 Topps Roger Maris #1 SGC 70 EX+ 5.5. If you break the Babe's home run record you get to be the first card in the next year's Topps set. Or, at least, that's what we've deduced from this solid mid-grade offering.
1962 Topps Managers' Dream #18 SGC 70 EX+ 5.5. Two legends for the price of one. The greatest center fielders in the game pair up for this solid mid-grade card from the 1962 Topps Baseball set.
1962 Topps Stan Musial #50 SGC 80 EX/NM 6. Fine specimen from Stan the Man who appears on a set whose full bleed color makes for a real collecting challenge. This one survived nicely though, with shiny gloss.
1962 Topps Ted Savage #104 SGC 96 Mint 9. Nine-year Major League journeyman, who had his best year during the Milwaukee Brewers first year in 1970, Ted Savage is featured on this card from the popular 1962 Topps issue. Graded a solid, SGC 96 Mint 9, this treasure features sharp corners with no chipping.
1962 Topps Mickey Vernon #152 SGC 96 Mint 9 "Green Tint" variation. The Washington Senators manager, better known for his playing career, Mickey Vernon is featured on this rare "green tint" variation from the 1962 Topps set. This sharp card has been graded a SGC 96 Mint 9.
1962 Topps Merritt Ranew #156 SGC 96 Mint 9 "Green Tint" variation. High grade example from the scarce "green tint" 1962 Topps series, this 1962 Topps Merritt Ranew #156 has been graded an SGC 96 Mint 9. The card features 50/50 centering and no chipping, making this a keeper for only the finest of collections.
1963 Fleer Sandy Koufax #42 SGC 86 NM+ 7.5. A pack-fresh look ranks this rarity high on the population reports, a fitting position for one of the game's all-time greats. Corners and sharp and gloss is brilliant.
1963 Fleer Roberto Clemente #56 SGC 80 EX/NM 6. This one looks like a potential upgrade candidate, as our imagery should attest. Sharp corners, very clean and even nicely centered. Imperfect registration and a slight diamond cut seem to be the main issues.
1963 Topps Carl Yastrzemski #115 SGC 88 NM/MT 8. One of Beantown's greatest sports legends was just a kid on the rise when this card was removed from a 1963 wax pack. Very little has changed since those days, with the card remaining in stellar condition.
1963 Topps Pete Rose #537 SGC VG/EX 50.
Important rookie card announced the arrival of the future Hit King. Nice, solid card with typical edge and corner wear.
1964 Topps Mickey Mantle #50 SGC 50 VG/EX 4. 1964 marked the final year Mickey Mantle would play in a World Series. The visual appeal of this attractive copy has a lot going for it. There is a slight surface wrinkle in the upper left corner explaining the grade. Centering is where one expects from an "EX/NM" card and corners are have a "NM" level sharpness. A good opportunity to acquire a high end looking card at a more modest price level.
1964 Topps Bob Clemente #440 SGC 84 NM 7. Super-sharp card looks like it just emerged from a wax pack, with no signs of its forty-five years of age. Sharp corners, bright colors and flawless registration.
1966 Topps Mickey Mantle #50 SGC 80 EX/NM 6. As a collector, if you can "tolerate" bold colors, bright white borders, glossy surfaces, close to precise centering and corner tips with simply small levels of wear, this beauty is for you. A strong middle to high-end example with strong visual appeal.
1967 Topps Mickey Mantle #150 SGC 84 NM 7. Visual eye catcher of Mantle's 1967 Topps card #150. Bright and fresh in appearance, the faults are few. Two spots of stray black ink, centering which sits low and small amounts of tip wear at two corners.
1969 Topps Mickey Mantle, Yellow Letters #500 SGC 86 NM+ 7.5. High-end yellow letters variety from the 1969 Topps issue has as its subject the All-Star slugger Mickey Mantle. His last-year card makes for a stellar piece with high collectible appeal on its own accord. easily the most sought after entry in the entire '69 Topps issue.
1969 Topps Nolan Ryan #533 SGC 84 NM 7. A high-quality specimen of Ryan's second-year collectible! The offered example of the always sought-after item-which marked the Hall of Famer's first "solo" appearance on a Topps card-features fantastic centering, one faint spot stain in the lower left edge and just the mild wear on the corners.
1970 Topps Senators Team #676 SGC 96 Mint 9. Solid condition is exhibited on this high number card from the popular 1970 Topps issue. This Washington Senators team card #676 has been graded SGC 96 Mint 9.
1973 Topps Mike Schmidt/Ron Cey Rookie #615 SGC 86 NM+ 7.5. For over 20 years, few batters had such a starring role in the nightmares of major league pitchers than Philadelphia Phillies 3rd Baseman Mike Schmidt. This 1973 Topps #615 (Graded SGC 86 NM+ 7.5) is the rookie card of not only Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt but Dodgers star Ron Cey. Almost perfectly centered (a rare comment for this card) and clean surfaces are surrounded by four high quality corners with just hints of wear at the tips.
1982 Topps Traded Cal Ripken Jr. #98T SGC 96 Mint 9. This first solo Topps card of the first-ballot Hall of Famer was never available in packs, compelling collectors to buy entire 1982 Topps Traded sets in the quest to obtain a top-grade specimen of this single card. This is a very nice example with great gloss and pack fresh appearance.
1984 Fleer Update Roger Clemens #U-27 SGC 96 Mint 9. When this 1984 Fleer Update rookie card of Roger Clemens was issued he was already on his way to a stellar career with enshrinement into Baseball's Hall of Fame already being talked about. Oh, how fate can change. HoFer or not, Clemens was among the most dominant pitchers of his era. This is a very sharp copy with no printing flaws.
1984 Fleer Update Kirby Puckett #U-93 SGC 96 Mint 9. Very sharp example of the Hall of Famers rookie card. Forced to retire due an injury and passed away at the young age of 45. Of the men enshrined in the Hall of Fame, only Lou Gehrig (37) and Roberto Clemente (38) died at a younger age. A bright and eye catching copy graded 96 Mint 9 by SGC.
1947-1966 Exhibits Jackie Robinson & Phil Rizzuto SGC-Graded Pair (2). Few sets can claim to cover more years than the 19 year span of the 1947-1966 Exhibit baseball series. Experienced hobbyists are aware that SGC is plain tough on postcard sized issues and this duo are no exceptions. Both cards are very nice for the grade. The lucky winner gets baseball HoFer Phil Rizzuto (SGC 60 EX 5) and racial equality pioneer Jackie Robinson (SGC 60 EX 5).

1969 Topps Baseball Complete High-Number Series (#'s 589-664). Issuing cards by series was a Topps tradition which lasted in the early 1970's. For many years this final "harrah" meant a lesser supply and slower sales as the fall meant football was just over the collecting horizon. Offered is a very nice final series from 1969 Topps baseball cards recently pulled from vending. Lots of sharp, high quality corners and glossy surfaces in this presentation. Highlights include: #'s 597 Rollie Fingers RC (EX/MT), 630 Bobby Bonds (NM), 640 Fergie Jenkins (NM) and 650 Ted Williams (EX/MT). Overall EX/MT to NM/MT condition.

Such is the case with this Polaroid image of Tyson and two friends, displayed in a shadow box below a handball inscribed and signed by what we assume to be one of the two men in the photo. Tyson has not signed, and the identity of the signer appears to be Devante King. We do not know who this is. Enjoy. Display size is 8x13x2".
