Heritage Live!® Floor Sessions
Auctions designated as "Heritage Live" have continuous bidding from the time the auction is posted on our site through the live event. When normal Internet bidding ends ten minutes before the floor session for each lot, you can visit HA.com/Live and continue to place Live Proxy bids. Your secret maximum bids placed prior to the live event will compete against the live bids. When the item hits the auction block, you can continue to bid live through HA.com/Live against the floor and other live bidders with streaming audio and video of the auction. You also have the option to bid live by phone. Call (800) 872-6467 Ext. 1150 and ask for phone bidding assistance at least 24 hours prior to the live auction.

Signature® Sessions With Extended Bidding These sessions are presented only online and bidding is only taken through our website. There are two phases of bidding during this type of auction: 1) Normal bidding: Bids are taken up until 10 PM CT the night the auction closes. 2) 30 Minute Ending: On a lot-by-lot basis, starting at 10:00 PM CT, any person who has bid on the lot previously may continue to bid on that lot until there are no more bids for 30 minutes. For example, if you bid on a lot during Normal Bidding, you could participate during Extended Bidding for that lot, but not on lots you did not bid on previously. If a bid was placed at 10:15, the new end time for that lot would become 10:45. If no other bids were placed before 10:45, the lot would close. If you are the high bidder on a lot, changing your bid will not extend the bidding during the 30 Minute Ending phase (only a bid from another bidder will extend bidding). If you are the only bidder at 10 PM, you will automatically win the lot at 10:30.

What is Heritage's return policy?

Heritage offers a three (3) day return policy for all Internet auctions (does not include Signature Auctions). Policy varies by type of Auction. See the "Additional Terms and Conditions" section of our Terms & Conditions.

Do I have to pay sales tax?

Lots delivered to you, or your representative are subject to all applicable sales/use taxes, if any, unless appropriate permits are on file with Auctioneer. Bidder agrees to pay Auctioneer the actual amount of tax due in the event that sales tax is not properly collected due to: 1) an expired, inaccurate, or inappropriate resale tax certificate and/or declaration, 2) an incorrect interpretation of the applicable statute, 3) or any other legitimate reason. The appropriate form or resale certificate must be on file at and verified by Auctioneer five days prior to Auction, or tax must be paid; only if such form or resale certificate is received by Auctioneer within 4 days after the Auction can a refund of tax paid be made. Lots from different Auctions may not be aggregated for sales tax purposes.

Heritage is required to collect sales tax in many states.

Heritage is not required to collect sales tax if you are buying for resale.

If I win, how do I pay?

For expedited shipping or delivery in person, upon receipt of your invoice, please remit payment a bank wire, cashier's check or bank money order. Clients with pre-arranged credit status will receive immediate credit for payments via eCheck, personal or corporate checks. All others will be subject to a hold of 5 days, or more, for the funds to clear prior to releasing merchandise.

For your convenience, payments can be made from the MyOrders page of the HA.com website by eCheck, but allow 24-48 hours from the end of the auction for invoices to appear on this Page. For more information, by type of auction, please go to the specific category on HA.com.

What is the Buyer's Premium?

A Buyer's Premium will be added per lot to the successful bid. Minimum Buyer's Premium varies by category. Please see the individual lot page for more details.

How much will my fees, shipping, and handling be?

Our fees, shipping, and handling charges include shipping, handling and private carrier insurance. Shipping varies according to the item type, quantity, and value (for insurance purposes). Wine shipments require this Delivery Collection Form, and are subject to delays due to extreme weather. Use the Shipping Calculator on the individual Lot page to estimate shipping. Shipping cost provided is for that single item ONLY. Shipping multiple items at once almost always results in a lower shipping cost per item. Actual costs may vary depending on shipping options. If I win, when will I receive my lots?

Please allow 7–14 business days to ship the items you won, unless they fall into one of the following categories: Action Figures & Toys, African Art, Animation Art, Arms & Armor, Entertainment, Ethnographic Art, Decorative Art, Design, Judaica, European Art, Fine & Decorative Arts, Movie Posters, Musical Instruments, Oceanic Art, Pre-Columbian Art, or Tiffany, Lalique & Art Glass. For these categories and oversized items in other categories, please allow 14–21 business days for shipping, as they require more labor-intensive preparation.
