Description:
1958 Topps Pancho Herrera, Missing "a" #433 PSA NM 7. Graded NM 7 by PSA, one of three at this grade level with only a handful deemed higher. For vintage card enthusiasts the T206 "Magie" misspelling is the king of the printing mishaps. Hobbyists who specialize in 1950's have the famous Pancho Herrera missing "a" variation from the 1958 Topps baseball edition to pursue. Where the "Magie" error accounts for just about a full third of the submitted T206 Magee portraits (20 of 62), only 20 of the 268 (or a mere 7%) '58 Herrera cards submitted have been the missing "a" variation. Its uniqueness is hobby legend and it's desirability is beyond question. This particular beauty has rich lush coloring, a bright white frame, near perfect centering and of course, a fully missing "a" plus a partially missing "r" from Herrera's last name emblazoned across the top portion of the card. The last missing "a" variation in this condition sold over 2 years ago for just over $7,200.00. It is a hobby classic and one of the finer examples known to date.
