Description:
1944-47 Bobby Layne Personally Owned University of Texas Longhorns Letterman's Sweater. Beloved as much for his free-spirited ways off the field as he was for his remarkable talent that led the Detroit Lions to three divisional crowns and two NFL titles, Layne remains one of the Motor City's top sporting heroes and he will forever go down as one of the best quarterbacks ever to play for the University of Texas.

Here we present the Pro and College Hall of Fame legend's personally worn Longhorns letterman's sweater that he used during his collegiate career in the Lonestar State. Exhibiting near perfect quality throughout, it presents six original buttons and a brilliant "T" letterman's patch on the front. In addition, the proper "C and S Sporting Goods" and "[size] 42" tags are in the collar, while the all-important "Sand Knit" and "Robt L Layne" swatches are in the interior. Only a few extremely small holes can be detected, while it still displays brilliant burnt orange and cream colors throughout. One of the nicest University of Texas items ever to hit the auction block, we expect it to command heavy bidding activity from the Longhorns' loyal alumni. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
