Description:
1933 Chicago Bears NFL Championship Gold Pendant Presented to Joe Zeller. After starting the 1933 season on fire by winning their first six games and allowing only 33 points, George Halas and his Chicago Bears cooled off in the middle of the season and lost on the road to Boston and New York. After that, however, the Windy City squad regained their winning ways and finished with a stellar 10-2-1 record and defeated the New York Giants 23-21 in the 1933 NFL Championship Game.

Offered here is star offensive lineman Joe Zeller's presentational charm that he was awarded for his part in the Bears' '33 championship victory. Exhibiting moderate wear throughout, the extremely rare football-shaped showpiece presents a Bear design on the front, with "19 World's Championship 33, Chicago Bears" on the front and "Joe Zeller, R.G." engraved on the back. Straight from the Zeller estate, this is one of the only presentational pieces from the memorable 1933 NFL Championship Game ever to hit the auction block. Please note (addendum): The football appears to be 14 karat gold plated, but the Bear, and top and bottom banner lettering are 10 karat gold.
