Description:
1923-25 Tris Speaker Team Index Game Used Bat. Without Ruth and Cobb to steal the limelight, Tris Speaker would be the early twentieth century name that every man, woman and child would recognize. His 792 career doubles stands to this day as a Major League record, forty-six beyond the his closest rival, Hit King Pete Rose. So it would stand to reason that Speaker lumber would make the pro stock circuit during his time. For the uninitiated, pro stock bats were ordered by the teams (rather than the players themselves) for use by those who might not have personal models--rookies, spring training hopefuls, etc. At thirty-five inches in length and just over thirty ounces in weight, the bat doesn't match Speaker's personal specs, but it's not impossible that the Grey Eagle used the lumber either, though it couldn't be confirmed. Excellent use, with a repaired handle crack. A thirteen-inch area on the barrel back has been planed for factory side writing, but it is no longer legible. LOA from PSA/DNA.
