Description:
1972 Topps Basketball Unopened Case With Twenty-Four Untouched Wax Boxes! One can only guess how a full case of any type of trading card somehow gets overlooked and remains completely unopened. To the best of our research, this is the only case from this particular issue that has surfaced in the hobby in the last 20 years. The contents are 100% untouched after four decades! We present an unopened 1972 Topps Basketball wax box case containing 24 counter display boxes, each with 24 wax packs still residing inside. If anything can be called mint, the contents of this case can. The mathematics of the offering are compelling--there are 24 potentially mint counter display boxes and 576 mint unopened wax packs within, offering wild potential for pristine greatness.

This series offered appearances by many stars and Hall of Famers including names found on the "Top 50 Players of All Time" of both the NBA and ABA. The roster of hoops heroes includes Wilt Chamberlain, Dave Cowens, Pete Maravich, Jerry West, Oscar Robertson, Phil Jackson (Rookie), Rick Barry, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Artis Gilmore (Rookie), Bill Bradley, Spencer Haywood (Rookie), Sidney Wicks (Rookie), Wes Unseld, Nate Thurmond, Connie Hawkins, Calvin Murphy, Jo Jo White (Rookie), Earl Monroe, Jerry West, Bob Lanier, Lenny Wilkens, Dave DeBusschere, John Havlicek, Nate Archibald, Willis Reed, Pat Riley and Elvin Hayes plus all-star cards, leader cards and two rookie year appearance of basketball legend Julius Erving. The outer heavy cardboard case has signs of handling but is in overall excellent condition and is securely held closed via four heavy factory staples. The winning bidder will be faced with a complicated decision-to leave the case untouched, or to open King Tut's tomb and delve into the treasures within. With tens of thousands of 1972-73 Topps Basketball cards that have been graded, there has not been a single PSA Gem Mint 10 Julius 'Dr. J' Erving rookie card. Inside this case could be the first!
