Description:
1939 Hall of Fame Induction Program Pages Signed by Most Honorees. There has never been a more noteworthy summit of elite early twentieth century baseball talent than that which occurred on the banks of Otsego Lake on June 12, 1939. Presented are four framed pages from the program issued for the Opening Day ceremonies of the Baseball Hall of Fame upon which the original owner collected as many autographs from the legends on hand as he was able. The cast of characters is astonishing:

Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, Connie Mack, Eddie Collins, Larry Lajoie, Cy Young, Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, Arky Vaughan (3/10), Billy Herman, Dizzy Dean, Lefty Grove, Charlie Gehringer, Carl Hubbell, Gabby Hartnett, Joe Medwick, Mel Ott, Bill Klem, Bill McKechnie, Hank Greenberg.

That's twenty-one newly-minted or soon-to-be Hall of Famers! Unless otherwise noted, all appear in 8/10 or better pencil. Most of those not part of the original induction class were on hand to participate in an exhibition game at Doubleday Field, and we find their names written into the unscored line-up pages upon which a portion of the autographs appear. Each two-page spread is individually matted and framed to dimensions of 17x23". Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Third party shipping required.
