Description:
1928 Babe Ruth Signed Letter. Just a month after the Yanks completed their second consecutive World Series sweep, avenging a 1926 Fall Classic loss to the St. Louis Cardinals, the Babe sent this brief note to a young admirer, complete with a flawless black fountain pen ink signature to close. The full text: "November 8, 1928, Dear Israel: Received your note and glad you are still trying to become a baseball player. Keep up the good work. Yours truly, [signed] Babe Ruth." The single page of Ruth's personal letterhead exhibits an original mailing fold, clear of the autograph, but no other condition issues of note. A simple, charming piece illustrative of Ruth's unfailing thoughtfulness toward his young fans. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
